IUPAC names is the system of naming compounds in organic chemistry as given by intrtnation union of pure and applied chemistry ( hence the name IUPAC ).

We have such a vast array of chemical compounds, that their naming had become utmost important so that they could be talked and discussed about with different scientists and chemists. The name should have been universal and widely accepted so IUPAC came up with the system of nomenclature that formulated the names of all existing compounds then and even suggested names of yet to be discovered compounds .
