Question

What happens to indices of refraction values at Tg?

What happens to indices of refraction values at Tg?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Refraction indices of a material is how much light bends when going through a particular material. If the bending angle is high, the material is non crystalline or amorphous. At Tg amourphous materials starts to release their entanglments and to move like a snake.. At such point refractive indices are very high because it ia hard to go through the material. As well irreapecting the weight refractive index of a material at Tg of that material is quite simillar. Not only that at Tg it takes more time to reach the equilibrium of indices of refraction

Light in air enters a stack of three parallel plates with indices of refraction 1.60, 1.65, and 1.70, respectively. The incident beam makes a 49° angle with the normal to the plate surface. At what angle does the beam emerge into the air after passing through the stack?

The indices of refraction for violet light (λλ = 400 nm) and red light (λλ = 700 nm) in diamond are 2.46 and 2.41, respectively. A ray of light traveling through air strikes the diamond surface at an angle of 54.0 ∘∘ to the normal. A) Calculate the angular separation between these two colors of light in the refracted ray. Express your answer in degrees.

What happens if the angle of incidence (from inside the material) is greater than the critical angle of refraction found in part (a) above? Why? This is called total internal reflection. Why is it only possible to have total internal reflection when light travels from a medium of higher index of refraction to one of lower index of refraction?

Analyze the article. What happens? What ideas and values the story may create, perpetuate, or challenge? Think of how the story (characters, language, themes, etc.) may affect the way readers react to the story themselves and to the real world outside of the texts. http://cristianaziraldo.altervista.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Girl-Jamaica-Kincaid.pdf
