Given that pKa = 0.27

Initial pH:

            concentration of citric acid = 4.77

           Initial pH = [pKa - logC]/2 = [4.77 - log (0.27) ]/2 = 2.67

pH after addition of 0.175 M citrate:
      

        pH = pKa + log [citrate] / [citric acid]

            = 4.77 + log (0.175 / 0.27)

           = 4.58

Change in pH :

      Change in pH = 4.58 - 2.67 = 1.91
