Briefly explain the differences between strongstrong titrations and strongweak titrations. Focus should be on conjugates and how they behave in solution
when there is strong acid and strong base titration (HCl - NaOH) the salt formed will be neutral in nature
HCl + NaOH ---------------> NaCl + H2O
in above reaction NaCl is neutral salt.
where as in weak acid and strong base (CH3COOH - NaOH) the salt formed will be basic in nature.
before end point the solution act as acidic buffer
CH3COOH + NaOH -------------> CH3COONa + H2O
this CH3COONa is basic in nature so before end point solution contain CH3COOH / CH3COONa mixture will act as acidic buffer
.
same way weak base and strong acid case solution act as basic buffer
