How could you use 1H NMR to determine the structure for compound C that has a molecular formula of C6H4Cl2? Please explain, thanks.
C6H4Cl2
DBE = Number of C - 1/2 Number of H - 1/2 Number of halogens +
1/2 Number of N +1
= 6 - 1/2 (4) - 1/2 (2) + 1/2 (0) + 1
= 6-2-1+1
= 4
The DBE = 4 means there is 3 pi bond or one ring with one double bond .
