since we know that ionization energy decrease down each column and increase left to right along each row of the periodic table. There are some variations of course but in general this idea works. Atomic radius increases down each column and decreases left to right along each row. In other words, in general the smaller the atomic radius the higher the ionization energy as the atom's nucleus is better able to hold on to the electons the closer they are to it.
