I am looking at my Chromotogram I got in my synthesis of aspirin lab and i am supposed to note any impurities. How do you detect the impurities in your HPLC?

The synthesized reference samples of the impurity compounds were used for the quantitative HPLC determination. The system suitability of HPLC analysis established the validity of the separation. The method was validated according to ICH guidelines with respect to specificity, precision, accuracy and linearity.

e.g. 4-(acetoxy)benzoic acid is the impurity formed in your compound, then synthesize the refference sample of 4-(acetoxy)benzoic acid & run on your HPLC.If this peak of refference sample is matched with impurity present in your aspirin compound then we confirm this impurity.
