A tissue culture plate experiment is done by adding 2 drops of hydroxylamine solution, 7 drops of ligand solution, and 3 drops of iron solution to a well in the plate. If you want to repeat the experiment on a larger scale, what is the conversion factor from plate to cuvette assuming that you need to make 2.8 mL of total solution volume?

Answer #1

Tissue culture well plates come in various sizes and shapes. The conversion factor can be calculated if we know the volume of well in the plate (working volume of the plate).

I have found out one from the internet and will show u the calculations according to it. If it doesnot match your requirement you can use the volume of well in your plate and calculate similarly.

Considering F-base,

Working volume availaible = 0.34 ml

Conversion factor from plate to cuvette = Volume of solution to be made in cuvette / Volume of well in the plate = 2.8/0.34 = 8.24

After your frustration with tissue culture, you finally get your cells passaged and decide to set up your cDNA synthesis reaction, PCR, and agarose gel. You have extracted RNA from your cells, and now you need to proceed with the cDNA synthesis. The first step is to determine the concentration of your RNA. You dilute your RNA 1:250, vortex it, move it to the cuvette, and run it on the spectrophotometer.   The spec tells you that your concentration of RNA...

In experiment five, the "Identification of Ions in Salts", you will use a series of reactions to identify a cation in one unknown and a cation-anion in another unknown. In this experiment primarily precipitation reactions or dissolving of precipitates will be used. The color and texture of the precipitate will be important to observe. In the identification of the anion the formation of a gas will be used to help ID the anion and a flame test will be used...

Below is the background info for the lab assignment. The 4 blank boxes are the questions I would like answers too. The end point for the fine titration was 35.90 mL in the burette when the solution turned bright green again. And the coarse titration I got 35.36mL as the end point. 35.9 mL is exact in case you need that info. Thanks!
