Viscosity is a property of fluid that arises due to collisions between neighboring particles in a fluid,particles that are moving at different velocities.

Intermolecular Forces Affect the Viscosity of fluid as it is related to the strength of the intermolecular forces acting between the fluid particles.

For example, water molecules are bound primarily due to hydrogen bonding. Liquids with high viscosity like honey contain hydroxyl groups (-OH). They can form multiple number of hydrogen bonds with water and with each other thereby forming disordered but strong network which makes flow harder.
