When can the nucleophilicity of a reagent not be estimated by its basicity?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Answer – We know the nucleophilicity and basicity has main difference is that, nucleophile that abstract the H called basicity and the nucleophilicity is the nucleophile attack on the carbon atom means other than hydrogen atom.

When in the reaction there is strong electrophile like carbocation then there is nucleophile acts only the nucleophilicity and there is not be estimated by its basicity. In the substitution reaction there is the nucleophilicity of a reagent not be estimated by its basicity
