We know Ksp for silver carbonate is 8.10 x 10-12

We know the Ksp expression for silver carbonate

Ag2CO3 (s) -----> 2 Ag+(aq) + CO32-(aq)

Ksp = [Ag+]2 [CO32-]

[K2CO3] =[CO32-] = 0.0652 M

8.10 x 10-12 = [Ag+]2 x 0.0652

[Ag+]2 = 8.10 x 10-12 / 0.0652 M

            = 1.24 x 10-10

[Ag+] = 1.11 x 10-5 M

The concentration of silver ion required to just initiate precipitation is 1.11 x 10-5 M
