Calculate the osmotic pressure of a 0.0500 M MgSO4 solution at 250C. (Hint: see Table 13.3) Answer will be in atm.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

MgSO4 will dissociate into two ions, the equation will be written as

Osmotic Pressure = i(vont hoff factor) * Molarity(M) * RT

=> 2(since it is disscoiated into two ions) * 0.0500M * 0.0821 * (273+250)

=> 4.298 atm
