i know how to do ice table so don't solve it. i just want to understand procedure. / concept
so basically this is question is about [ buffer + HCl 1M ]
and in order to figure out pH of this we had to set up a ice table.
question is..
1) why need to set up ice table to solve buffer + HCl,?
2) in class i learn that i cannot use henderson equation to solve this since henderson only give answer to pH of buffer not plus HCl that was added.
3) how is it possible to have initial of Ace- ? i thought product side always has to be 0 . so this is double reaction? meaning, HAA and ACe- going forward and backward at sametime?
at initial stage say at 0 seconds only reactants , no products gets formed thats why 0 on the right side
a change takes place with time .........reaction starts for example at 5 seconds
at Equilibrium that is after some time equilibrium is established that is when enough products gets formed it gives back the reactants and there occurs a time when both reactant and product concentration becomes constant(not same) and of course very rarely same. This takes place only in reactions that are reversible.
