Which of sodium chloride(salt), iron filings, and sand are least attracted to paper and most soluble in water? Please explain thoroughly.
Explain how something could still in the liquid even after you filtered it? explain.
Thank you very much.
Sand will be least attractive to the paper because there is no adhesive force between paper and sand.
Sodium chloride is most soluble in water because it is an ionic compound which dissociate into sodium and chloride ions in the water and make a homogeneous solution with water.
When any compound formed a homogenous solution with a liquid then it retain in it even after filteration for example when we filter a solution of sand salt and water salt mixed with water and penetrate the filter paper but sand filtered.
