All volatile chemicals shall be treated and managed under a vent and fume hood. Also, appropriate dressing must be used, such as a n approved lab coat, lab glasses, closed security or industrial shoes, for women hair should be tied, and if necessary, appropriate respiration equipment should be used. When chemicals are poured in beakers or flasks, they should be covered with a watchglass or appropriate cap. Finally, security measures in the lab, such as emergency exits, fire extinguishers, and eye/body baths should be appropriately located.
