from your predicted the value of the vant hoff factor, calculate the boiling point of a 1.50 m aqueous solution of barium nitrate, Ba(NO3)2? The Kb of water is 0.52C/m.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

vant hoff factor for Ba(NO3)2 = 3 ( 1 Ba+2 ion and 2 NO3- ions)

Tb = Kb X molality

        = 0.52 X 1.5

       = 0.78

Tb = T1 - T0 (T1 = boiling point of solution, T0 = boiling point of water(solvent) T0 = 1000C)

T1 = Tb + T0

     = 0.78 + 100

     = 100.78 0C
