Please these are the questions based on the same experiment.

1 Is the percentage composition given on the original container correct?(Identifying the Unknown component of the counterfeit pharmaceutical.

2

Describe any evidence that a chemical reaction occurred when you added the 6M

HCl to the solution of sodium acetylsalicylate.

Explain why the changes that you observed took place.

Answer #1

Solution :-

Q1) If the experimentally calculated composition of the drug is same as it is labeled on the container then we can say that the percent composition of the original container is correct and if it is not mathcing with the original container composition then we can say that it is incorrect.

2) Sodium acetylsalicylate is the conjugate base of the acetyl salicylic acid therefore when it is reacted with the HCl then conjugate base takes the proton from the   HCl and will form the acetyl salicylic acid which will be porecipitate out as solid. SO the formation of the solid is the evidence that the reaction is ocuured.

In this experiment you will construct a smal electrolytic cell. Then using indicators you will determine the products fromed at the anode and the cathode druing several different electrolysis experiments. About the experiment: in the first part of this experiment you will construct a small scale chlorine production plant. it is a miniature of the real, large scale process used for production of chlorine by the electrolysis of sodium chloride or brine (procedure written by Dr. Stephen thompson, CSU, CO)...

Chemical Reactions Types and Their Equations Making Heat with Chemical Reactions Have you ever wondered how an instant heat pack works? A disposable heat pack works by a chemical reaction that combines iron in the package with oxygen from the air when the outer packaging is removed producing iron oxide. You have probably seen the product of this reaction in what is commonly called rust. The reaction releases heat, which allows the pack to reach a sufficient temperature that is...

Procedure Reaction 1: Dissolving the Copper 1. Obtain a clean, dry, glass centrifuge tube. 2. Place a piece of copper wire in a weighing paper, determine the mass of the wire and place it in the centrifuge tube. The copper wire should weigh less than 0.0200 grams. 3. In a fume hood, add seven drops of concentrated nitric acid to the reaction tube so that the copper metal dissolves completely. Describe your observations in the lab report. (Caution, Concentrated nitric...

Below is the background info for the lab assignment. The 4 blank boxes are the questions I would like answers too. The end point for the fine titration was 35.90 mL in the burette when the solution turned bright green again. And the coarse titration I got 35.36mL as the end point. 35.9 mL is exact in case you need that info. Thanks! Background In this lab, we will determine the amount of alcohol (ethanol), C2H5OH, in a commercial vodka...

I have provided the information for the lab below. I want to see the chemical reactions that take place during each step of the experiment. So in the procedures when a chemical was added i would like to see what the products and byproducts that were formed. I also want to see one over all reaction for this experiment to just get an overview of what exactly is happening during the experiment. Thank you:) Part B: Synthesis of [Co(NH3)5Cl]Cl2 Objective:...
