List three oxidizing agents and three common reducing agents commonly found in nature, and give examples of what they oxidize or reduce.
Oxidising agent: the speies which oxidises other species (or) the species which accepts electrons from other species is called as oxidising agent.
Natural oxidising agents are :
1. oxygen
It oxidises f=iron in the presentce of moisture to its oxide which generally called as rusting of iron.
2. Ozone
It oxidises CFC's , Nitrogen oxides in the atmosphere causing ozone depletion
3. CO2
In photosynthesis Co2 oxidises H2O in the presence of light energy to O2
Reducing agents: the species which reduces other species (or) the species which gives electrons to other species is caaled reducing agent.
Natural reducing agents:
1. H2O
In photosynthesis it reduces Co2 to carbohydrate in the presence of light energy
2. Fe
it is oxidised by O2 and moiture in the nature
