In the hexane molecule C-H and C-C bonds are present these bonds are not polar therefore hexane do no possess any dipole moment
in contrast the water molecule have H-O bond which is the polar bons because oxygen is more electronegative than H also the oxygen atom have 2 lone pair of electrons therefore it possess the permenent dipole moment in the water molecule.
Therefore water molecule is the polar molecule because of the presence of the permenent dipole moment while hexane is non polar molecule because of lacking of the permene dipole moment.
