The reason for the object appearking black in the dark because human body are unable to distinguish the color of the object in the case of ultimate light or ultimate darkness

2) The plants absorbs red light with the help of chlorophyll and the blue wavelength of the visible spectrum and the green light is not absorbed by the plants and reflected.

Similarly, when we put red light on the green sweater the sweater will reflected both red and green light, making the color of the sweater dark black
