You need 200 microliters of 250mM Tris and have a 1M stock. Describe how to prepare this solution? Show ork please

Homework Answers

Answer #1

concentration of stock solution, M1 = 1 M

volume of stock solution = V1

concentration of dilute solution, M2 = 250 mM = 0.250 M

volume of dilute solution,V2 = 200 uL

Volume of stock solution, V1 = V2M2/M1

= {(200 uL)(0.250 M)}/1M

= {(200 uL)(0.250 M)}/1M

= 50 uL

Thus, volume of stock tris solution used is 50 microleters.

We have to add 150 microleters of water to 50 microleters of standard solution to prepare dilute 200 microliters of 250 mM tris solution
