when baking soda and venigar mixed together, the reaction produces water and carbon dioxide gas.In the capped film canister, the CO2 gas builds up untill the pressure of all of the contained gas causes the canister to pop open.the pressurised CO2 quickly escape the canister through the open bottom.This how a chemical reaction provides the thrust the canister needs to launch.
