The solubility of ammonium sulfate in water at 25C is 76.0 g per 100.0ml of water. These proportions yield a saturated solution with a density of 1.26g/ml. What is the the volume of the solution?
Solution :-
Suppose we have saturated solution
that is 76.0 g ammonium sulfate dissolved in 100 ml water
100 ml water = 100 g water because density of water = 1 g/ml
so total mass of solution = 100 g + 76.0 g = 176.0 g
density = 1.26 g/ml
density = mass /volume
= 176.0 g / 1.26 g per ml
= 139.7 ml solution .
So the volume of the solution is 139.7 ml
