what is the value of naming organic molecules? What do the names allow scientists to do?

Answer #1

The names of organic compounds are systematic and following logically with set of rules, the Systematic nomenclature is governed by IUPAC. This systematic nomenclature starts with the name for a parent structure within the molecule of interest. This parent name is then modified by prefixes, suffixes, and numbers to convey the structure. there are millions of organic molecules known and use of systematic names can be benificial for everybody (scientists). To use the systematic naming, one must know the structures and names of the parent structures.
