Answer #1

Five elements selected are sand, sugar, iron, air, steel

Matter can be classified into pure substances and mixtures.

Pure Substances are material composed of only one type of particle. Sugar and iron are pure substances as only one type of particle is present in them.

Mixtures are made up of two or more types of substance, ratio of substances is not mixed. Air, sand and steel are example mixtures. Air is a mixtures of different gases, sand is mixture of different minerals and steel is an alloy of iron. Alloy is a type of mixture.

I chose this classification because this is the basic classification need to be understand before going further. Further mixtures are also various types.
