__________ torr

b. What mass of water vapor condenses to liquid?

__________ grams

Answer #1

The partial pressure of water is equal to vapour pressure of water at 22C0

At 22C0 vapour pressure of water = 19.8torr

The partial pressure of water vapour = 19.8torr

Water vapour compressed to half its volume half the water will condesed. But partial pressure of water no change.

b. PV = nRT

T = 22C0 = 22+273 = 295K

p = 19.8 torr = 19.8/760 = 0.026 atm

V = 9.25/2 = 4.625L

n = W/M

molar mass of H2O (M) = 18

PV = WRT/M

W = PVM/RT

   = 0.026*4.625*18/0.0821*295

= 2.1645/24.2195 = 0.0893gm >>> answer
