1. Determine the most accurate and precise piece of glassware
devise a plan that will let you determine which is more accurate and precise at measuring a liquid volume: a pipet or a buret.
you will have the following at your disposal: distilled water, the contents of your cabinet and shared drawer, analytical balances, density of water at various temperatures chart, and thermometers.
making sure you have at least three measurements for each piece of glassware. You will need to perform statistical analysis of your results to decide which piece of glassware is more accurate and which is more precise.
2 Determine the concentration of NaCl in a solution using the density of the solution
Use your results from Part 1 of this experiment to decide which is the best piece of volumetric glassware to use to determine the concentration and density of a solution of NaCl.
You will have available to you the following: solid NaCl, distilled water, the contents of your cabinet and shared drawer, analytical balances, thermometers, a computer with Excel
describe the relationship between density and concentration.
I need procedures of these two experiment. I have no idea where to start and set things up.
Please help!!
Thank you.
1. buret or pipet
Procedure: 1.Measure the mass of distilled water on a weighing balance.
2. Using thermometer, measure the temperature
3. Find the density using tables and calculate the mass using density = mass/volume
4. now , transfer that same mass of weighed mass of water to once buret and once pipet.,Mark the volume and compare with the calculated volume from density.
5. now repeat for two more sets of desired mass of water. And compare the results of buret and pipet to know thw accuracy.
