The plasma arc water treatment system is a chemical free means of disinfecting water.

This process works by repeatedly discharging a high voltage and high current electrical arc under water in between two electrodes for a fraction of second, which has the same effect as lighting bolt.A strong acoustic shock wave is produced, which in water causes the effect known as cavitation to occur.Cavitation is seeded by particulates in water coloumn that is microorganism.

A plasma arc water treatment system would use this effect to destroy microorganism within a radius of plasma arc.
