(a): When 1 molecule of pyruvate is converted to 1 molecule of acetate 1 ATP is formed

pyruvate --------> acetate+ CO2 + ATP

(b): In muscle cells first glucose is converted to pyruvate and then to lactate with liberation of 2 ATP. Inside liver cells during gluconeogenesis the reverse reaction occurs in which pyruvate is converted to glucose with utilization of 6 ATP. Hence 2 ATP shuld be the answer

glucose -----> lactate + 2 ATP (answer)

(c) After glycolysis the acetyl CoA formed enters in Kreb's cycle for further oxidation. When acetyl CoA is converted to CO2, 12 ATP mlecules are formed.

(d) During glycosis 1 molecule of glucose is converted to 2 molecules of pyruvate under aerobic condition and 2 mlecules of ATP are formed. The overall reaction is

Glucose + 2 NAD+ + 2 ADP + 2 Pi ---------> 2 Pyruvate + 2 NADH + 2 H+ + 2 ATP

Hence 2 ATP are formed.
