The balanced chemical reaction for producing water is: 2 H2 + 1 O2 2 H2O. Predict which reactant amounts would get the most water with the least amount of leftovers.
As per the balanced equation we know that we need more amount of hydrogen and half amount of oxygen for production of water
2H2 + O2 --> 2H2O
Let we have following cases
1) 5 molecules of H2 and 3 molecules of O2
Then we will obtain 5 molecules of water and 0.5 moleculess of O2 left over
2) 5 molecules of H2 and 5 molecules of O2
Then we will again got 5 molecules of water and with 2.5 molecules of O2 as left over
3) 3 molecules of H2 and 5 molecules of O2
Then we will get only 3 molecules of water and with left over 3.5 molecules of O2.
Hope it will help you.
