TRUE OR FALSE A compound only gives one peak in Gas Chromatography

Homework Answers

Answer #1

True.

In Gas chromatography each compound will give one peak.

If it is a mixture of two compound then it will give two peaks corresponding to each compound and
If it is a mixture of five compound then it will give five peaks corresponding to each compound.

This is extra: (for your better understanding)
But, there will be solvent peak too, the solvent in which you dissolved the compounds. But it will be broad peak which can be easily identified.
