Inherent filtration is the filtration which is done by components of x-ray tube assembly itself.

Added filtration is the filtration done by components which are not part of main body or housing port. This usually is beyond the housing port.

Total filtration is Inherent + added filtration.

kVp is operating voltage which denotes kilovoltage.

Total filtration requirement for xray tubes that operate above 70 kvp is minimum 2.5 mm Aluminum.

Aliminum sheets are preferably used for added filtration.
But mirrors and plastic covers can also be used effectively.
