You are given an experiment to determine the Hydrolysis of different salts. For this, you take different samples of different salts, add 2-3 drops of different indicator in them and note the color change. Then compare the color change to a color indicator chart to determine the pH of the salt.
What is the GREATEST source of error in an experiment like this? How could you minimize this error?
there are two types of major errors.First one is about the the volume of the indicator added which should be added acuurately rather than in vague manner. In order to monimise this error you can use a micropipette for adding the indicator solution.
The second one is about the intensity of the colour or the amount of colour fade, intensify or change which can not be significantly identified. Inorder to reduce this error possibility you need to to use a spectrophotometer or colourimeter to measure the colour change
