the rate of duffusion of a gas is inversely proportional to square root of its molecular weight.

Rate of diffusion = distance travelled in unit time.

NOw

rate INH3) = 127cm

rate(AcOH) = ??

molar mass of NH3 = 17g/mol

molar mass of acetic acid = 60g/mol

Thus

Rate acetic acid /Rate NH3 = [molar mass of NH3/molar mass of acetic acid]1/2

rate acetic acid /127 cm = [17/60]1/2

rate of acetic acid = 67.6 cm

The distance travelled by acetic acid in same time = 67.6 cm
