Question

The molar solubility of silver carbonate in a 0.254 M sodium carbonate solution is M.

The molar solubility of silver carbonate in a 0.254 M sodium carbonate solution is M.

Homework Answers

Answer #1

Ksp of Ag2CO3 = 8.46×10–12

concentration of CO32- = 0.254 M

Ag2CO3   --------------> 2 Ag+   +   CO32-

                                        2 S         0.254

Ksp = [Ag+]^2[CO32-]

8.46×10–12 = (2S)^2 x 0.254

S = 2.89 x 10^-6 M

Molar solubility = 2.89 x 10^-6 M
