Which molecule has the strongest carbon-oxygen bond? I know the answer is CO, im looking for an explanation of why that answer is correct.

A triple bond is stronger than a double bond. Hence when we compare the double bonds in CO2 to the triple bonds in the CO molecule, the triple bond is stronger.
