A secondar battery is a battery simply which is rechargble that means which can be used many many times by providing charge to it.Once you used it and when charge is finished then if you put it onto charge you can again use it.This type of battery is also called storage battery. Difference between primary battery and secondary battery is primary battery can not be used once it is discharged but secondary battery can be used for lot of cycles.
One example is Ni-Cd battery which is used in UPS. The component used for Ni-Cd battery is nickel hydroxide(NiOH)2) and cadmium hydroxide(Cd(OH)2).
