How will you make a 5.25% galactose solution? What will the molarity of this solution be?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

We can make 5.25 % solution of galactose by dissolving 5.25 g galactose in any solvent but mostly in water.

As we know molarity of solution can be calculate by using farmula

Molarity = mole of solute/solvent in letre

For this we must calculate the mole present in given solution

mole = amount of compound in gm/molecular weight of compound

mole = 5.25/180.16

mole = 0.029

Putting this value into above eqation we have

Molarity = 0.029/0.1 mole/letre

Molarity = 0.29 mole/letre
