Question

How would you make 450 g of a 1.500% w/w KCl solution in water?

How would you make 450 g of a 1.500% w/w KCl solution in water?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

w/w % of KCl = 1.500 %

w/w % means 1.500 g KCl is present in 100 g of water .

1.500 g KCl   ------------> 100 g water

450 g KCl     -------------->   ??

mass of water required = 450 x 100 / 1.5

                                      = 3.00 x 10^4 g

to prepare KCl solution , take 450 g KCl and dissolve in 3.00 x 10^4 g of water .
