Which of the following solutions has the highest pH?

a. 0.1 M sodium nitrate, NaNO2

b. 0.1 M potassium bromide, KBr

c. 0.1 M lithium chlorate, LiClO3

d 0.1 M iron III nitrate, Fe(NO3)3

~~~~from my understanding the first 3 should be neutral and the 4th one should be acidic because of iron's ability to act as a weak acid....please help.
Answer #1
a. 0.1 M sodium nitrate, NaNO2 = NaNO2 is a salt of a strong base (NaOH) and a strong acid (HNO2) ...so its solution will be neutral ...and pH will be 7
b. 0.1 M potassium bromide, KBr = KBr is a salt of strong base (KOH) and strong acid (HBr) ...so its solution will be neutral ...and pH will be 7 c.
c. 0.1 M lithium chlorate, LiClO3 = here it is more basic because ClO3- is stable conjugate base. that why its's ph is be highest/
d 0.1 M iron III nitrate, Fe(NO3)3 = it is acidic in nature so it have lower pH.
Answer: 0.1 M lithium chlorate, LiClO3 has The highest pH .
