The first step is the deprotonation by the base KOH and rearragement of the double bond is taking place followed by the acetylation of the OH group to protect then after treated with ozone it will oxidize the double bond at benzylic posotion to create the aldehyde the deprotection of the OH to saparate the Vnillin.
