Answer #1

Number of +ve = Number of -ve

(a) Bi2S3 <--> 2Bi3+ + 3S2-

       H2O <--> H+ + OH-

Charge balance equation is: [H+] + 2[Bi3+] = 3[S2-] + [OH-]

(b) Na2S <--> 2Na+ + S2-

       H2O <--> H+ + OH-

Charge balance equation is: [H+] + 2[Na+] = [S2-] + [OH-]

Select all of the true statements about charge and mass balance equations. If a certain number of atom A are delivered into a solution, than the sum of atom A in all species must equal the atoms of A delivered to the solution. The solution must be neutral. The charge balance states the magnitude of positive charge equals the magnitude of negative charge in a solution. The mass balance states that atoms are conserved. If a certain ratio of atoms...
