What’s the difference in the secondary structure between DNA and RNA?

Answer #1

Answer:-Difference in secondary structure between DNA and RNA.

Secondary DNA -Double helix.

Secondary RNA -single folded chain.

Nucleic acid secondary structure is the basepairing interaction within a single nucleic acid polymer or between two polymer. The secondary structure of biological DNA'S and RNA'S tend to be different . Biological DNA mostly exists as fully base paired double helices, while biological RNA is single standard and often forms complicated base pairing interaction due to its increased ability to form hydrogen bonds stemming form the extra hydroxyl group in the ribose sugar.

The relative hybrid duplex structure of DNA and RNA is greatly influenced by primary sequence composition. The primary sequence dictates duplex structure and stability, giving DNA a B-type helix, RNA an A-type helix and DNA:RNA a mixed A:B type helix. Based on the structural and thermodynamic study of DNA and RNA duplexes, rationalize which type of hybrid duplexes form the most stable structures and describe experimental methods that can be used to characterize i. duplex stability and ii. duplex structure

Which of the following statements is a TRUE comparison between RNA and DNA? Note: This question has "adaptive" scoring. There will usually be one multiple choice question on every tutorial with "adaptive" scoring. You will be able to try the question again if you initially get it incorrect but there will be a penalty applied for each wrong answer. Select one: a.
