Specific heat of bro mine liquid density equals 3.12 g/mL is .226 J/g • k.
A) how much heat is required to raise the temperature of 10 mL of liquid bromine from 25°C to 27.30°C
B) if the initial temperature of 1 L of bromine is 100°C what is the final temperature?

Homework Answers

Answer #1

A. density = 3.12g/ml

   volume    = 10ml

mass of liquid = volume *density

                           = 10ml*3.12g/ml = 31.2g

q    = mcT

      = 31.2*0.226*(27.3-25)   = 16.22J >>>>answer

B. density = 3.12g/ml

volume of liquid = 1L = 1000ml

mass of liquid     = volume * density

                           = 1000ml*3.12g/ml = 3120g

q   = mcT

16.22   = 3120*0.226*(T2-100)

T2 = 100.0230C

The final temperature = 100.0230C
