Answer #1

1a) Given number of moles n=0.555 mol, Temperature T=0 °C=273 K and pressure P=1 atm.

We know that from ideal gas law, PV=nRT where R= universal gas consatnt=0.0821 L atm mol-1 K-1.

Volume V=nRT/P=(0.555 molx0.0821 Latm mol-1 K-1x273 K)/1 atm

V=12.43 L.

1b) Given volume V=22.4 L, Temperature T=0 °C=273 K and pressure P=1 atm.

We know that from ideal gas law, PV=nRT where R= universal gas consatnt=0.0821 L atm mol-1 K-1.

number of moles n=PV/RT=(1 atmx22.4 L)/(0.0821 L atm mol-1 K-1x273 K)

n=0.999 mol.
