Answer #1

Molar mass of O2 = 32 g/mol

mass of O2 = 1.22 g

mol of O2 = (mass)/(molar mass)

= 1.22/32

= 0.0381 mol

we have the Balanced chemical equation as:

2H2 + O2=2H2O

From balanced chemical reaction, we see that

when 1 mol of O2 reacts, 2 mol of H2O is formed

mol of H2O formed = (2/1)* moles of O2

= (2/1)*0.0381

= 0.0762 mol

Molar mass of H2O = 2*MM(H) + 1*MM(O)

= 2*1.008 + 1*16.0

= 18.016 g/mol

mass of H2O = number of mol * molar mass

= 0.0762*18.016

= 1.37 g

Answer: 1.37 g
