If a mixture of solid nickel(II) oxide and 0.10 M carbon monoxide is allowed to come to equilibrium at 1500 K, what will be the equilibrium concentration of CO2?

initial          0.1 M       -        -

change           - x                  + x

equil           0.1-x                   x

Kc = [CO2]/[CO]

(4*10^3) = x/(0.1-x)

x = 0.099

at equilibrium,

[CO2] = X = 0.099 M

[CO] = 0.1-0.099 = 0.001 M
