Molarity represented by mole/liter

Given molarity; M = 5.0 x 10-4 M = 5.0 x 10-4 moles/liter

ppm = parts per millian

conversion of mole/Liter to ppm can be represented by

ppm = (moles/liter) x 1000 x molecular weight

ppm = 5.0 x 10-4 x 1000 x 95.205 = 47.6025 ppm

concentration of MgCl2 = 47.6025 ppm

Percentage of Mg in MgCl2= (24.305/95.205) x 100 = 25.53 %

concentration of Mg = 47.6025 x (0.2553) = 12.1525 ppm of Mg
