Cationic radius _ from left to right across a period and _ down a column.

(A) decreases, decreases

(B) decreases, increases

(C) increases, increases

(D) increases, decreases

(E) does not follow a systematic trend

Answer #1

Cationic radius DECREASES from left to right of period and INCREASES down the period

As we move across Period the cationic charges increase I.e .

Number of electron decrease in ions and atomic number increase hence radius decrease but this trend is not at all even .there may be some discontinuity

Where down the group charged same and size increase hence cationic radii increase

PLEASE GIVE ME A THUMBS UP TO MY ANSWER

I AM IN VERY NEED OF THAT
