Describe methods, which can be applied for sampling: (a) PM2.5, (b) light alkanes (3-5 carbon atoms), (c) PAHs (Polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons).
A large number of methods are available for sampling of gas samples.
(a) PM2.5 is volatile gas particulates which can be sampled again by a number of ways such as MicroVol 1100 Low Volume Air Sampler which may be used to collect samples of all sizes.
It can also be connected to online analyzer.
(b) light alkanes can be sampled rather easily by employing stainless stell containers which can then be sent for analysis at the site or separately to the work space.
(c) PAHs (polycyclic aromatic amines) these can be sampled efficiently due to higher boiling point of the components in stainless steel cntainers or for shorter period analysis in specialized sample balloons.
They may be collected in a solvent.
